Additional Therapies
Neural Manipulation, Visceral Manipulation & Craniosacral Therapy
Bridge offers a unique approach to Rolfing by integrating components of other therapies including:
NEURAL MANIPULATION
Neural Manipulation (NM) helps to ease restrictions specifically in the nervous system. Balance, stability and ease can follow when the nerves of the body can function without impingement. The brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves function together as a unit. By working with the nervous system holistically, NM helps to restore the natural fluidity of all body systems. NM can range from gentle to more direct pressure, but is intended to be painless. NM seeks to settle down the nerve inflammation that can arise from use, overuse, injury or posture. By freeing impinged nerves, information to and from the brain is also freed for better intercommunication through body.
VISCERAL MANIPULATION
Visceral Manipulation (VM) focuses more on working with organ systems. Just as bones and muscles can become overly tethered to their surroundings, organs may be without enough space to move and function optimally. VM works by gently softening associated organ tissues to restore ease and freedom. Organ restrictions tend to affect gait and pain patterns, so the effects can be far reaching in the body. The organs of the body are also closely associated with the functioning of the nervous and vascular systems, so many people find improvement in these areas as well.
CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
Craniosacral Therapy (CT) is a gentle way of supporting balance in the central nervous system (CNS). A balance between action and rest is what gives us happy and healthy nervous systems. It is commonly understood that adding stress to any symptom will make your symptom worse. By easing CNS strain and stress, the body is better able to rest and heal itself. Craniosacral Therapy isn't about "fixing" your problems, it's about supporting your own powerful and inherent ability to heal.
